So few people realize how valuable Social Media Optimization can be, and many are using these sites in the wrong way. Using social platforms as a place to advertise deals or promotions is not going to get you more followers. The thing about social networks are that they are meant to be social. Marketing on sites like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook are only as helpful as you let them be. The ability to interact with customers in real time is HUGE. Creating compelling content that other people want to engage and share, by:

•  Embedding your video, picture or info graphic

Sharing

The more you share the more you increase exposure for your content. Also, this provides a chance for more people to share your content as well. This also increases the chance of people sharing your links. The more that it is seen, with the combination of the right keywords get your content to rank higher in the search engines. There are a number of businesses that use social media sharing to their advantage, especially the “check in option.” Facebook has a “check in option” but there are several there major sites that allow you to check in including:

Social Signals

Google looks at Google+ and other social media sites for data. Inbound links from other sites can affect search engine rankings. Google has put an end to low quality links and only the top companies who are using the right process can dominate.

However, a lesser known reason to build a successful social media strategy is because Google ranks social media sites very highly. Take advantage of these sites by tagging your business or product and optimizing your posts just like you would optimize a website page. Build your social sites to act as extensions of your business website.
