Google is introducing a new feature when it comes to searching for businesses. When you Google search a business, you can now immediately chat with someone from the business via Google hangouts. This feature is offered on both desktop and mobile. The chat feature will pop up along with the price level of the business, the address, map location, phone number, hours of the business, ratings and reviews.
Don’t get too excited! This feature is only an experiment that Google is testing to see if it could potentially be used as a successful tool. The chat feature would work just as any other Google hangout, just a line of communication between the prospective consumer, and the business of interest. An example used by techcrunch.com, if you are looking to talk to a restaurant, you could theoretically ask if they are busy, if there have open reservations, specific inquiries about their menu options, and more. The chat will then give you a real answer, from an employee at the restaurant.
The idea of this Google chat option stemmed from business texting. This was a service that allowed users to see everything they needed to see, and learn what they wanted to know without having to use a phone call to retrieve that information. Google’s test of this chat service offers all of the same things that the texting option offers in addition to an estimated time of response by the business in which you are contacting. Though this is still in the early stages of development, it’s a good idea to explore and expand search engines. Google wants to make France-ipad things easy for its users, and, this chat option is as easy as it gets.
